Dieter Baier

For over 30 years I have worked in software development, focusing on the architecture and integration of complex application systems.

My career began as a software developer and led, by way of international integration projects, to software architect and IT consultant. During the 1990s I worked for Uniquare (then Genesis) as a systems integrator and technical coach on banking projects in South Africa, Moscow and Kuala Lumpur.

Today I help companies design and build distributed, process-oriented systems, with a focus on Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture and sustainable architecture documentation.

Since 2020 I have supported my colleagues as a trainer for the iSAQB Certified Software Architect - Foundation Level whenever a trainer is needed.

I am also increasingly concerned with sustainability in software architecture, in particular the effect of IT systems on energy consumption and the environment.

Good software grows out of the dialogue between technology, business and users - and that intersection is where I see my role.

I combine architecture work, hands-on development and comprehensible documentation to build sustainable and maintainable software systems.

For personal reasons, the subject of inclusion matters a great deal to me. I advocate a working culture that encourages diversity and removes barriers - in professional life and beyond.
